Compression stockings are commonly used to treat anyone with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or varicose veins due to the impact these conditions have on circulation and the risk for blood clots to travel to the heart and lungs.
- PLEASE NOTE: Medicare WON'T COVER compression garments for varicose veins, ulcers, or circulation problems.
- Medicare and most medical insurance plans DO NOT cover compression or diabetic socks. Even with a prescription from your doctor they are a non-covered service.
- Some MA plans DO COVER some compression garments.
